Boat Registrations

Boat Registrations are subject to several fees; they are

  1. Excise Tax - based on the length, age, and horsepower of the boat.
  2. Registration Fee (set by Inland Fisheries and Wildlife) based on the horsepower of your boat:
    • 0 to 10 horsepower = $20.
    • 11 to 50 horsepower = $25.
    • 51 to 115 horsepower = $31.
    • 116 and higher horsepower = $39.
    • Personal Watercraft = $39.
  3. Milfoil Sticker $10 - required if the boat is used in freshwater.
  4. Agent Fee: $1 for renewals, $2 for new registration.

For Renewals - Norridgewock Residents

  1. In person at the Town Office.
  2. Last year's registration is helpful.
  3. Pay applicable fees.

For Renewals - New Norridgewock Residents

  1. In person at the Town office.
  2. Last year's registration required.
  3. Pay applicable fees.

New Registrations - Maine Dealership Sale

  1. In person at the Town Office.
  2. Bring your sales receipt (bill of sale).
  3. Proof of sales tax paid.
  4. Pay applicable fees.

New Registration - Out of State Dealership

  1. In person at the Town Office.
  2. Bring your sales receipt (bill of sale).
  3. Sales tax will be due at 5.5% of the purchase price if you did not pay it out of state.
  4. Pay applicable fees.

New Registration - Private Sale

  1. In person at the Town Office.
  2. Bring a bill of sale (required) including the VIN number, Make, Model, Year, Purchase Price.
  3. Sales tax will be due at 5.5% of the purchase price.
  4. Pay applicable fees.
